Fred Ritchin

Fred Ritchin is an American writer, educator, and curator who has served as the Dean Emeritus of the International Center of Photography (ICP) School. He was a picture editor for The New York Times Magazine from 1978 to 1982 and executive editor of Camera Arts magazine from 1982 to 1983. Ritchin is a prolific author on the impact of digital imaging on photography, having written several influential books including 'In Our Own Image' (1990) and 'After Photography' (2008). He has also curated numerous exhibitions focusing on documentary photography and contemporary Latin American photographers. His work often explores the challenges and possibilities implicit in the digital revolution and the ethics of photojournalism.[1,2]
